Like yin and yang, we are all made up of feminine and masculine energy. In order to survive in today’s world, however, many women push down or devalue their feminine side and connect more with their masculine energy.

Feminine energy can mean different things to different people, but it typically embodies intuition, deep feeling, creativity, interconnectedness, openness, self-worth and wildness. Masculine energy centers more around competitiveness and productivity.

When women lose touch with their feminine energy, we are often left feeling disconnected with their body and sense of self.

By activating this important part of ourselves, we can develop new levels of power, pleasure and confidence.

We can discover a new version of ourselves, one that is more integrated, authentic and leads from the heart.

You can embrace your feminine energy by strengthening your intuition, being present with your feelings, recharging your mind and body, practicing self-reflection, tapping into your creative side, and honouring your body internally and externally.

When women connect to their feminine energy, they focus on self-love, healthy boundaries and their inner wisdom. Past traumas can block our ability to tap into our feminine energy which is intuitive and creative.

To be truly balanced, to get things done and to have healthy relationships, both the masculine and the feminine need to be present.

By leaning into your feminine energy, you get to tap into your fierce power, your inner goddess. You access spiritual wisdom and you become comfortable with the aspects of yourselves that may have before been categorized as shameful, too “much”, or too emotional. You get to own your emotions, learn from them, alchemize them and heal.

All of this means that you will be coming into a whole new version of yourself. No matter where you are on your journey, remember to show up for yourself. You will find there are always more layers to peel back.

Keeping romance alive can be simple and fun! When I talk with couples about their romance slipping away, I like to review some of the simple things that can bring it back. Daily care and small actions of love are the heart of the romance. Sometimes we let the stress of ‘grand gestures’ overwhelm us. Keep it simple with these six tips:

1. Take turns planning dates

This way one partner isn’t doing all the planning and organizing. It’s nice to have someone take care of all the decisions and details!

2. Show your appreciation every day

Ask yourself: ‘What can I do to celebrate my partner today?’ Those little words, compliments, kindness- they can go a long way. Smile when you see your partner! Every day, share your beautiful smile with them.

3. Surprise your partner

Small surprises can impact your day- this can be a note in a lunch, a video text or sweet voice message. Something small, but that you don’t often do. It shows that you care and it will make your partner smile.

4. Plan a ‘Just Us’ time

Choose a night of the week, and commit to it. Even if it’s a night in, spend it together on the couch- talk about why you love each other and celebrate the relationship you have. Remember what sparked your love! Talk about your memories and good times.

5. Mix things up

Routines are par for the course in a long-term relationship. Try a new restaurant, take a class together, do an activity you haven’t tried before. Check out ‘Things to Do’ in your local area and just go for it! Even if something is not as you expected, it could end up be a fond memory and that’s what life is built on.

6. 60 second hugs!

I love these so much. Just silently hug for 60 seconds, and notice how good it feels. Your bodies connect and you feel that love and safety in your connection. As the hug goes on, you allow yourself to ‘just breathe’… BUT doing this with your partner can be so effective. And it only takes ONE MINUTE.

Romance can make a wonderful difference on your day, your attitude and your relationship. Stay sexy, loving and thoughtful, everyone!

When I see a confident woman, I smile inside and immediately cheer her on. (Yes, girl, slay it.) I am proud of her for finding her strength and being sure of herself. She inspires me and encourages me to stand in my own strengths. One of my greatest wishes is for more women and girls to find and feel confidence within themselves earlier, with more ease and in a bolder way. 

It doesn’t come easy to everyone but the great news is, confidence is a skill and you can build it.

It’s a mindset that you can teach yourself, and once you gain your footing in this skill, you will feel more positive, more sure of yourself, and yes, more confident. (If you already ARE a confident woman, let this exercise bring you joy and reinforce your worth. And let me ask you this, who are you inspiring? Who are you cheerleading for? Women helping women is one of the most powerful connections we have. Teach, share and encourage every chance you get.) 

Positive mantras can be used to increase confidence. Affirmations can help change the way you think and feel about yourself, and eventually lead to an increase in confidence.  For the next month, use these daily affirmations to inspire you, build your confidence and encourage you to believe in yourself more. Every day do these three things: 

  1. Read it and think about yourself being it
  2. Say it out loud – say it clear and confidently 
  3. Write it down – it doesn’t matter if you write it on a napkin, post it or diary. When we write something about ourselves it strengthens our belief in it. Do it! 

Here are several one-a-day phrases to inspire and continue your confidence: 

  • I am worthy and important. 
  • I am capable of doing amazing things. 
  • I am intelligent and my ideas are excellent. 
  • I am enough. 
  • I am worthy of love, respect, and abundance.
  • I am important and my thoughts, ideas and conversations matter. 
  • I get to choose how I react to what others say or do.
  • I will never give up on myself.
  • I have within me the power to handle any situation.
  • Peace is within me always.

Make sure to always use, say or write these positive mantras for confidence in the present tense. Let these statements help and encourage you. 

It may feel uncomfortable if this is new to you, but that’s okay. I invite you to do it anyway, start today! Allow yourself to try it and know that it is okay if you are a little unsure. That is normal when you are learning or improving something! Nobody plays Beethoven in their first week of piano lessons, we don’t become fluent in a second language after one conversation abroad, we don’t run before we walk. It’s the same with confidence building. It’s a skill, a process and it will take you more than one time to build it and believe it.

And you, my darling, are worth it.
